South America & Antarctica
From the Andes to the ice. A journey with a very big change of scenery.

More than pins on a map.
Chile, Peru, Argentina and an Antarctic expedition brought together cities, mountains, the Amazon and expedition travel. Santiago, the Andes, Cusco, the Machu Picchu region, Lima, Buenos Aires and Ushuaia all feature in this travel history. This is experience across very different environments, not one destination with a few day trips.
These are places and experiences from our founder’s travel history. They aren’t a fixed tour, and they don’t all necessarily belong to one journey.
The bits that make
the journey.
Andes & Machu Picchu region
Mountain landscapes and the Cusco area formed part of the South American experience.
Amazon
A different environment and a different style of travel within the wider adventure.
Santiago, Lima & Buenos Aires
City time alongside the outdoor and expedition parts of the journey.
Ushuaia & Antarctica
The expedition element adds another layer to an already substantial international trip.

Good journeys
need good joins.
That’s our bit.
Flights, stays, trains, transfers and the time to actually enjoy being there.
Real travels.

Geographical overview of places visited, not a verified route order or a single continuous journey. Region markers are approximate; the exact safari, Amazon and expedition locations are not specified. OpenStreetMap loads only when selected.
The homework
worth doing.
Planning lessons drawn from journeys like these — without pretending your trip should be identical to ours.
Work around the expedition
An expedition departure is a key planning anchor. Connecting flights and other stops need breathing room.
Respect the changes of environment
Cities, altitude, rainforest and expedition conditions call for different pacing and preparation. Personal medical advice belongs with a qualified clinician.
Count the whole travel day
Long distances and connections deserve proper space in the itinerary. A transit day is still part of your holiday.
These stories draw on our founder’s firsthand travels. Your itinerary is researched for your own dates and needs, with current details checked during planning. Destination photography is credited separately.
